Eligibility Criteria
“To be eligible for the MEXT Scholarship, applicants need to fulfill the following criteria:
1. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is a prerequisite for eligibility.
2. Eligible Countries:The scholarship is open to applicants from all countries around the world.
3. Nationality:Applicants must hold the nationality of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan. Those who were citizens of Japan at the time of application are ineligible.
4. Age Criteria:
For undergraduate students: aged between 17 and 25, having completed 12 years of school education or equivalent.
For Masters/PhD students: age under 35, holding a college degree, or expecting to graduate soon. For eligibility, completion of 16 or 18 years of education is required.
For Teacher Training Students: Aged under 35, a graduate of a college or teacher training college, with a minimum of five years of active teaching experience in primary, secondary, or teacher training colleges in their home country.
