“The NIG Internship extends a range of benefits to its participants:

1. Round-trip airfare from the intern’s residence (school location) to Japan.
2. Round-trip transportation fare from the Japanese airport to NIG.

“To qualify for the NIG Internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is mandatory.
2. Eligible Countries: Open to candidates from all countries worldwide.
3. Academic Background: Applicants should have a keen interest in life sciences and be in the prefinal year during the application period. This includes being in the 3rd year of a 4-year bachelor’s program, the 2nd year of a 3-year bachelor’s program, the 4th year of a 5-year program, the 1st year of a 2-year master’s program, or the 5th year of a 6-year program.
4. PhD Aspirants:Students with an interest in enrolling in NIG’s PhD program are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please note that due to the highly competitive selection process, applications from non-prefinal-year students and those already enrolled in a PhD course will not be considered.”

NIG Internship Requirements

“As an intern, adherence to the following requirements is essential:

1. Adherence to NIG Regulations:
Interns must comply with the regulations set forth by the NIG.

Maintain the confidentiality of any unpublished information acquired during the internship at NIG.

3. Dedication to the NIGINTERN Program:
Fully commit to the NIGINTERN program, completing assigned tasks, assignments, and projects associated with the internship.

4. Full-time Engagement:
Participate in the project on a full-time basis, working five days a week for the entire duration of the internship as agreed upon with the supervisor.

5. Oral Presentation Requirement
Deliver an oral presentation on the designated day to report research results.

6. Submission of an Essay and Questionnaire:
Provide an essay and complete a questionnaire at the conclusion of the internship term.

7. Documentation of Flights:
Submit all boarding pass stubs for flights arranged by NIG to and from Japan.

Failure to meet the specified conditions may result in necessary actions by NIG, including the potential reduction of financial support and/or termination of the internship.”
